It's a privilege to recommend Milt Habeck and his new consulting company, Unbeaten Path International. I have worked successfully with Milt in several roles since 1978 at SC Johnson Wax. His principle strengths include:

Creativity: Milt is known for coming up with brand new concepts which often change the boundaries of corporate policy or practice. For example, he suggested call option FX rate hedging for our Argentine subsidiary and as a result, that company recorded millions of dollars of windfall gains while our local competitors suffered huge translation losses.

Vision: He recognized that FASB-S2 measurement of high Inflation financial results failed to provide Latin American managers with the information needed to improve profitability. His invention, promotion, and implementation of double-entry constant currency accounting in major Americas companies is credited with transforming the region from break-even to SCJWs highest profit ratio operation. And, Milt lead the Americas Region into a successful integrated/real-time, common Information systems strategy years before similar efforts were initiated in other international regions.

Leadership: Milt has very high performance standards and he assembled a highly motivated and exceptionally competent group of Financial Directors in the Americas. He is known as a "tough grader" who thoroughly and fairly evaluates performance while inspiring and coaching individuals to fully achieve their potential.

Good Business Judgment: His broad experience (Engineering, Manufacturing Planning, Marketing Research, Product Management, Sales, Finance, and Systems) gives Milt a balanced perspective. He lead the highly successful acquisition of Silva, Ltd. in Canada. His recommendation to close our Dominican Republic subsidiary was implemented.

Financial Acumen: Milt's technical reputation is outstanding and without equal at SCJohnson Wax.

High Ethical Standards: People rely on Milt's word. He builds credibility by admitting his mistakes. His point of view on a subject is based on the merit of the issues.
